Raised in the quiet town of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Cobey began performing at the age of 14 with his first band, Before Summer Ends. His musical journey evolved with The Hudson Branch, where he gained invaluable experience touring nationally, collaborating with fellow artists, and writing/producing music.
In 2016, Cobey shifted his focus to custom songwriting and scoring for films and podcasts.

He partnered with Gimlet Media and The Free Press, composing scores for acclaimed podcasts such as Crimetown, Honestly, The Pitch and The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling. Throughout the years he’s honed his craft in transforming personal narratives into deeply meaningful, custom-written songs.
Most recently, Cobey has been actively releasing music through his solo project, Cobey., as well as with The Hudson Branch. He composed an original score for a full-length independent feature film and has written over 700 custom songs since 2021.

In addition to music and songwriting, Cobey is an avid pickleball player. He has secured multiple second-place finishes in Chicagoland tournaments and is determined to one day bring home the gold.

Hiring a musician to come up with an entirely new song is truly special. It differs because the song has not been made or used by any other customer. This is a brand new song being created - inspired by the details you submit - versus a song included in their existing catalog.
Song lengths vary depending on the song details provided, genre selected, and artist. But you can expect a song from scratch to be 3:00+. We offer an add-on (later) that extends this length.
Yes. Regardless of the type of song you choose above (selected song OR song from scratch), you will submit your own personal stories and interests for the song (name the occasion, the recipient, stories to include, etc).
Our goal is to create the best song possible. But during the submission, you can choose the degree in which you allow your musician to use their own expressions.
